Bone & Joint Infection,
Skin & Soft Tissue Infection,
Urinary Tract Infection.
MODE OF ACTION:
Amoxicillin is a penicillin group of antibiotics with Betalactum Ring used to treat a number of bacterial infections.
Amoxicillin is a bactericidal antibiotic that works directly by killing the bacteria.
Amoxicillin is a broad spectrum antibiotic highly effective against Gram+ve aerobic & anaerobic bacterias and Gram-ve aerobic & anaerobic bacterias.
Clavulanic Acid is a betalactum drug that functions as a mechanism based betalactamase inhibitor.
Clavulanic Acid itself is a mild antibiotic while not effective by itself as an antibiotic.
When combined with penicillin group of antibiotics (Amoxicillin), Clavulanic Acid potentiates the action of penicillin group of antibiotics and overcome antibiotic resistance in bacteria that secrets betalactamase which otherwise inactivates most of the penicillin group of antibiotics.
